Virginia "Jenny" Eakin Wright

Virginia “Jenny” Eakin Wright, 89, of Roanoke County went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 2, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Wright; son, Michael Wright; parents, Roy and Hyacinth Eakin; siblings, Roy Eakin, Redmond Eakin, Francis Wells, Christine Bain, Charles Eakin, and Thelma Long.

Jenny is survived by her son, Mark Wright; brother, John Eakin (Doris); good friend, June Lawlor, and numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends from Peters Creek Church of the Brethren, where Jenny was a longtime member.

Jenny was the sweetest person you would ever meet, and she will be deeply missed. She will joyfully be joining Richard in Heaven.

The family will have Visitations on Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00pm and on Friday from 1:00 -2:00pm both at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. A Chapel Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 2pm also at Simpson’s, officiated by Pastor Ed Woodward. Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
