Virginia Lee Windbush

Virginia Lee Dunn Windbush, 72, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Friday June 23, 2023, peacefully at her residence. She was born on May 7, 1951, to the late James Dunn, Sr., and Adlee Meadows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Windbush, Sr.

She was a member of the former Outpour Ministries, now known as Refreshing Church, where she loved her church family. She enjoyed watching her court shows, especially “The Paternity Court”, cooking, reading, traveling, and most of all serving and spending time with her family and friends.

Virginia is survived by her daughter, Tiffany Windbush; two sons, Cecil Windbush, Jr., and Christopher Windbush; one sister, Ruby Wade; two brothers, James Dunn, Jr. (Wanda), and Eddie Dunn (Norma); one grandchild, Matalie Griffin - Mendez; two aunts, Joyce Meadows, and Lillie Martin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at Bassett Funeral Service chapel with Pastor Terry Hairston officiating. The burial will be at Carver Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
