Virginia Matherly Foley

Virginia Matherly Foley, 83, of Bassett, VA, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, peacefully at her home. She was born on April 15, 1939, to the late Fletcher Matherly and Bessie Irene Matherly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clive Lee Foley; three sisters, Joann Carter, Fairy Shively and Mary Yontz; four brothers, Louie Matherly, Posie Matherly, James Matherly, and George Matherly.

She was a member of Clearview Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, that brought her so much joy.

She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Matherly; three sisters, Betty East, Lucy Morris, and Irene Wilson; a brother, Robert Matherly; four grandchildren, Dean Blankenship, Lynn Blankenship, Michelle Shelton and Josh Marlowe; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.

The funeral will be held on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be at Henry Memorial Park immediately following the service. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to service.
