Virginia May Carroll

June 4, 1939 - January 14, 2024

Virginia May Summers Carroll, 84, of Boones Mill Virginia, passed away January 14, 2024 at her residence. She was born June 4, 1939 in Albemarle County. She was the daughter of the late Herman Shuler Summers and Winkie Watts Belew Summers. She was also preceded in death by husband of 30 years, Claude Clinton Carroll; daughters, Cynthia Ann Millway and Brenda Sue Millway; and brother, Herman Summers Jr.

Virginia is survived by her son, Rick Millway of Boones Mill; daughter, Angela Breaud and a special son-in-law, Paul Breaud of Faber VA; step-grandsons, Logan Breaud and Corbin Breaud (Katie); and brother, Robert Lee Summers.

She attended McGuffey Primary School and Lane High School in Charlottesville. She moved to the Roanoke area in 1984 and eventually moved to Boones Mill where she lived for over 30 years. In 1992, she was elected to the Boones Mill town council where she served respectably. Virginia's greatest loves were her husband Claude, her children, and her gardens. She also attracted many species of birds with her feeders. Most of all, she was a loving mother, kind friend and a beautiful soul.

A celebration of life will take place at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church in Faber VA, Saturday, February 3rd at 11am with the Reverend Tom Foley officiating. Light fare in the fellowship hall following the service. Annoucement courtesy of Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
