Vivian Cowart Huffman
Vivian Ann Cowart Huffman, age 78, of Rustburg, passed away peacefully at her residence on Monday, May 11, 2026.
Born on July 31, 1947, in Campbell County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Glover Daniel Goff, Jr. and the late Ruby Aileen Price Goff. She was also preceded in death by her three siblings, Sammy Langford, Jimmy Langford, and Darnell Goff Johns.
Vivian was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family deeply and treasured the time spent with them. She retired as the Environmental Service Director at Grace Lodge and was also formerly employed with Archer Creek Foundry. Vivian was a faithful member of both Faith Baptist Church and Victory Baptist Church.
She found joy in the simple things in life, especially planting flowers, gardening, working word search puzzles, and relaxing while watching General Hospital and Judge Judy. Vivian also had a special love for animals and cherished all of her fur babies through the years. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now reunited with loved ones who passed before her, along with her beloved pets.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, William “Billy” Russell Huffman; three children, Tonya K. Huffman Hubbard and husband, Kenneth, Tammy Boaz, and Roger Lee Cowart, Jr.; one stepdaughter, Tammy H. Jarvis; two siblings, Carolyn Wooten and husband, Mike, and Elgie Harvey and husband, David Farmer; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; special friends, Gwen Campbell, Debbie Langley, Becky Cyrus, Brenda Langford, and Billie Langford; and her special fur baby, Pickles. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Minister Gwen Campbell officiating.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all of Vivian’s doctors for their compassionate care, especially Dr. Kelly, Dr. Gezen, Dr. Tidbit, and Dr. O’Neil. They would also like to thank Nayar Hospice, along with the nurses and aides, for the exceptional care and support shown during Vivian’s final days.
