Wallace "Wally" Eugene Turner
Wallace Eugene “Wally” Turner, 54, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2026. He was born August 30, 1972, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Curtis Eugene Turner and Dalia Eanes Turner.
Wally was a proud graduate of Bassett High School, Class of 1990, and was a dedicated employee of Eastman for over 17 years.
Wally was a man who embraced life with enthusiasm and never missed an opportunity to have a good time. Known for his larger-than-life personality and often described as the “life of the party,” Wally had a special way of bringing people together and making lasting memories. One of his favorite traditions was hosting his annual Fourth of July celebration, where family and friends gathered for spectacular fireworks, delicious food, and plenty of laughter. It was an event many looked forward to each year, and Wally loved every minute of it.
Wally enjoyed collecting G.I. Joes and Transformers, hobbies that reflected his fun-loving spirit. He also had a passion for firearms and motorcycles. Whether enjoying his favorite pastimes or simply spending time with those he loved, Wally lived life on his own terms and made sure there was never a dull moment.
Above all, Wally's greatest pride and joy was his family. He loved his wife and children deeply, and those fortunate enough to be part of his circle knew just how much they meant to him. His outgoing personality, generous spirit, and love for a good celebration will leave countless cherished memories. Though the fireworks may fade, the joy, laughter, and love Wally brought into the lives of others will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Kimberly “Kimba” Turner; daughter, Allyson Turner (Carlos); sons, Brandon Helton (JaLisa), Christopher Clark (Kaitlyn), John Clark (Emily), and Dakota Clark (Olivia); sister, Lisa Maria Edwards; uncle, Leon Turner; and nine beloved grandchildren, Christian, Da’Zyre, Gabriel, Annabel, Jasper, Arizona, Riley, Hayden, and Delilah. Wally also leaves behind his five cherished feline “furbabies,” Lucy, Bob-e-que, Silva, Sweet Pea, and Minnie, who held a special place in his heart and brought him much joy and companionship.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service-Bassett chapel, 1230 Oak Level Road, Bassett, Virginia with Pastor Donald Kendrick officiating.
