Walter Hayes Rich

Walter Hayes Rich, 63, of Martinsville, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at his home. He was born May 21, 1959 in Wentworth, North Carolina, to the late Richard Daugherty and Lillie Mae Penn Daugherty. He had been employed at Trinity Packaging for 15 years as a machine operator. He attended Word Victory in Greensboro and Integrity Ministry in Martinsville. He made friends easily, liked watching the Dallas Cowboys, enjoyed cooking and loved Jesus. Walter is survived by his daughters, Terri Knotts, Danica Rich and Myah Moye; sons, Walter D. Rich and Daniel Martin; brother, Ollis Penn; and 11 grandchildren. The funeral will be Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 11:30 AM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, with Elder Tabbatha Penn Jones officiating. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. A Floating Visitation will be Friday, October 7, 2022, 11:30 AM to 5:00 PM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will be private. Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
