Walter "Wally" Viohl
Walter W. “Wally” Viohl, 73, husband of Robin Viohl passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 at his home. He was the son of the late Walter W. and Hester Ray Viohl, Sr.
Wally was a retired 1st Sergeant with the Virginia State Police after more than 35 years of service. He loved spending time outdoors and hunting and was also a member of Kazim Shriners of Roanoke, the Taylor Masonic Lodge 23, and Scottish Rite.
In addition to his wife of 36 years, Robin, he will be missed and remembered by his daughter, Autumn Viohl; brothers, Robert Viohl and Timothy Viohl; Nephews, Zach Viohl and Ben Viohl; sister-in-law, Tracy Harmon; niece, Alexa Harmon; as well as his special friends, Al Mason, Hunter Hepburn, Kenny Garlock, Steve Sullivan, Paul Kruszynski, Dave Tikusis, all of whom were his hunting buddies and, Jerry Smith, who was his long-time friend from the State Patrol.
There will a gathering of friends and family from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Kazim Shriners of Roanoke or the Virginia State Police Association.
