Wanda Francis Heath Light

Wanda Francis Heath Light, 63, of Bassett, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at her residence. She was born Wednesday, December 9, 1959, in Franklin, Va., to the late James Heath and Irma Francis Heath.

Wanda retired from Ferrum College, where she worked for many years. She was more than just a colleague to those she worked with. She was a friend and mentor to the many co-workers and students she met at the college. She was well loved and will be greatly missed.

Wanda is survived by her beloved husband Glen Light, and stepson Trey Light. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories her brother David Heath Kitchen and his partner Nick; sister Susan Mauldin and husband Scott; father-in-law and mother-in-law Walter and Jean Light; her brother-in-law Eddie Light and wife Teresa; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family, and the many friends she touched along the way.

The family will receive friends at the home of Walter and Jean Light on Thursday and Friday, April 20 and 21 from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2023, at First Baptist Church- Bassett with Pastor Terry Dalton and Monroe Light presiding.
