Wanda Lou Weddle Poore

Mrs. Wanda Lou Weddle Poore, age 92, of Hillsville, passed away on February 8, 2023, at Waddell Nursing Center in Galax. She was born on January 29, 1931, in Botetourt County Virginia to the late Roy and Lyda McPeak Weddle. Left to cherish her memories are a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon Brown (Michael); son and daughter-in-law, Allen Poore (Janet); seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Glenda Vest (Roger), Katie Bennett; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lincoln Weddle (Jane), Corvin Weddle (Angie), Jim Weddle (Sadie) and Betty Weddle; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Poore was preceded in death by husband, Russell Poore daughters, Denise Cox, Janice Stokes; brother, Phillip Weddle. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Pastor Jay Meadows, and pastor Wendell Horton. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. The Family will receive friends on Saturday afternoon from 12:00 PM until time for the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Mrs. Poore to; Sky View Baptist Church of Fancy Gap, First Baptist Church of Mt. Airy, Mountain Valley Hospice, Battleground Outreach of Fancy Gap, or the charity of the donor’s choice.
