Wanda Tingler Fridley
Wanda Tingler Fridley, 92, of Roanoke peacefully went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 19, 2024. She was preceded by her parents, Burvie H. “Ted” and Irene Wright Tingler; husband, Luther Tolley Fridley; sister, Barbara Tingler Landis; and a brother, Phillip Eugene “Gene” Tingler.
Wanda retired from the Order Department of the Eli Lilly Corporation. She was a devoted Christian and at the time of her death she was a member of Zion Assembly Church of God. As a part of her Christian walk she served as Secretary and Treasurer of her church for many years. Her devotion to Christ was evident in her restlessness until she knew that her tithe to her church was paid.
While Wanda was very serious about many things in life she was known to have a witty personality and to be a dedicated Atlanta Braves fan. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
Surviving is her loving sister and longtime devoted caregiver, Ruth Tingler; brother, Jerry Tingler; nephew who lovingly called her “Annie”, Allen Tingler and wife Beverly; great nephews and great niece, Matthew and Leslie Tingler, Phillip and Hope Tingler, Chelsey and Josh Watts, Ethan and Calissa Tingler, Samantha Tingler, and Chastin and Morgan Akers.
The family would like to offer a very special thank you to Debbie Trent and her staff and the staff at Medi Home Health Hospice for the wonderful care they provided for Wanda during her illness.
