Wayne Eugene Henson

Wayne Eugene Henson, 77, passed from this earthly life to his heavenly home April 18, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Wayne was born on March 23, 1949 in Lynchburg, VA to the late Homer B. Henson and Bessie S. Wood.

Wayne retired from Southern Air after over 30 years of service. He was a member of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church where he served on the kitchen committee. Wayne loved fishing trips to Deltaville and NASCAR racing. His favorite time of year was our annual Myrtle Beach trip.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, H.G. Henson.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Campbell Henson; his children, Amy H. Bell and her husband, Aaron W. Bell, Michael W. Henson and his fiancé, Jessica Potter; his grandchildren, Peyton R. Henson, Parker W. Henson, Owen H. Bell and Elliot H. Bell; his sister, Anne H. Hudson; and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne’s pain and suffering has ended. We will miss him so much.

A funeral celebrating Wayne’s life will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Randolph Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Derik Hamby and Rev. Mike Fitzgerald officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

There will be a graveside service held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, April 25, 2026 for his interment where all are invited to attend if able.
