Wayne McMillan
Claude “Wayne” McMillan, 84, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 7, 2026, surrounded by his family. Wayne was born in Martinsville on October 22, 1941, to the late Robert Lee McMillan and Cinderella Nichols McMillan. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee McMillan and Cinderella Nichols McMillan; his sisters, Katherine Jewel McMillan Lindholm, Pattie McMillan Arrington, Nancy McMillan Whitten, and Mary Alice McMillan Sink; his brother, Bobby McMillan; and his son-in-law Charles M. Aaron.
Wayne graduated from Martinsville High School and was a proud United States Air Force veteran. He worked for 30 years at Roy Stone Transfer as a Diesel Mechanic, until it closed. Following that, he worked for Martinsville Concrete and ended his working career at Lowe's in Martinsville. Wayne and Faye lived in and raised their family in Collinsville, later moving to Martinsville in the early 2000’s. Wayne was an avid hunter, hiker, and fisherman who enjoyed working on his land throughout his life. He was a devoted husband, married for over 67 years, a wonderful father, and an adored grandfather. Wayne devoted much of his leisure time to his grandchildren, about whom he wrote, “The greatest gift in life was his precious grandchildren”. Wayne was always present at their many activities, including serving as an Archery Club Coach at Carlisle School for many years and helping with his grandsons’ Cub Scout Troop and Boy Scout Troop #326.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Faye Hanks McMillan; daughters, Donna McMillan Bullard (Keith) and Susan McMillan Aaron; sister, Barabara McMillan Ashby; brother, David Kent McMillan (Dorothy); grandchildren, Jeremiah Keith Bullard, Cameron Michael Aaron (Hannah), Emilee Elizabeth Aaron, Olivia Susanne Aaron, Natalie Hidalgo Aaron, Jinsu Kim (Sallyanne), and Bonnie Xue; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

The family will be holding a private service, but friends and family are welcome to visit the McMillan home at 36 Diana Court, Martinsville, VA, to pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, they request donations be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and the National Kidney Foundation. The family would like to thank Mountain Valley Hospice for their support during this difficult time, and also thank Donna Thompson, Valerie Hairston, Wondra Neblett, Victoria Warren, Lisa Morrison, and Keka Penn for their loving care and support of Wayne and the entire family.
