William Carter Worsham

October 18, 1942 - April 5, 2025

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of William C. Worsham, who peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord on April 5th, 2025, at the age of 82. Bill was born in Baltimore, MD, on October 18, 1942, the only son of the late Percy Worsham and Alice Worsham Johnson.

Bill dedicated much of his life to the work he loved as a civil engineer. His career, which he ultimately concluded at Lynchburg Steel Co., was marked by his brilliance, meticulousness, organization, and reliability. Known for having a plan and list for everything, Bill lived his life with an abundant overflow of love, gentleness, kindness, patience, and humor. Whether teaching children about mathematics, helping those in need, tinkering with projects, or simply spending time outdoors, Bill radiated the love of Christ. His testimony and devotion to his faith inspired all who knew him. He was the very likeness of Christ, and his memory will remain a beacon of light for all who were blessed to have known him.

Bill was preceded in death by his late wife, Helen Stetzer Worsham, with whom he shared two beautiful daughters, Lisa Burch (Rob) and their children Callie and Macy and Lori Fleming (Matt) and their children Evan and Amelia.

Bill is survived by his adored wife, Laura J. Worsham, who blessed him with her children: Frank Davis, Joseph Davis (Manee), Scott Duarte (Dez), Kenny Duarte, and Catherine Davis (Joe Silva). Bill was the proud grandfather of 14 grandchildren: Carissa, Tajarae (Steven), Amanda (Dmitry), Samantha, Brandon, Frankie, Anthony, Nikki, Joey, Michael, Colson, Elijah, Isaiah, and Riley. He was also a loving great-grandfather to Hope, Faith, Jadiel, Jordan, and Carter, along with a host of extended family and friends. Bill’s absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will live on until we are reunited in heaven.

A service celebrating Bill’s life and faith will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Dan Reichard officiating. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service.
