William Clayton Conner

William Clayton Conner, 62, of Scranton, Pennsylvania, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2024. He was born December 17, 1962, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Reverend Willie E. Conner and Zelma Martin Conner.

He was a member of Rich Acres Baptist Church in Ridgeway, Virginia, and a U.S. Army veteran who served as an airborne soldier. Before his illness, he worked as a truck driver for J.B. Hunt Trucking. He loved riding motorcycles, working on cars, and spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of two years, Lorraine I. Hartman; two children, Angel Thompson (Steven) and Joshua Conner (Jenniffer); one grandchild, Lucas Thompson; one brother, Howard Conner; one sister, Linda Elliott (Joe); and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Bassett Funeral Service Chapel. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 2:00 PM.
