William Tyrone Matthews, 79, of Bedford, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Carriage Hill Assisted Living. He was born in West Virginia on January 29, 1944, to the late William H. and Jesse Smith Matthews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Mae Watkins Matthews and his brother, Alvino Matthews.
William enjoyed working on cars, astrology, and reading.
He is survived by his son, Eric Matthews (Brittney); sisters, Faye Thomas, and Doretha Matthews; brothers, Vaughn Matthews, Mackenzie Matthews and Leon Matthews; grandson, Kyrie Matthews.
A memorial service will be held at Wright Funeral Service, Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. Burial will be private.
