Woltz “Gray” Atkins, 86, of Dobson, North Carolina peacefully went to be with his Lord and Saviour, with his family by his side, Wednesday, October 14, 2026, after a short illness. Born July 20, 1940, in Surry County to the late Robert Woltz and Vena Lowe Atkins. A devoted Christian, Gray lived his life with a humble heart, a servant’s spirit, and an unwavering faith in the Lord. He was a proud Army veteran, an avid fisherman, and a loyal Los Angeles Dodger fan. Gray was a talented carpenter, who used the talents God gifted him to help build several well-known local establishments, including Cedar Ridge Elementary School, Meadowview Middle School, Ridgecrest, and Delp Chiropractic, as well as numerous projects throughout the state. Though his craftsmanship left a lasting mark on the community, it was his faith in Christ, and the quiet humble way he lived his life that truly defined him. Above all, he was a loving family man whose greatest legacy will be measured by the faith he lived, the love he gave, and the lives he touched. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter and son-in-law, Kim Atkins-Bruner and Benny; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Gray Atkins and Nicole; grandchildren, Emily Grace Bruner, Graylyn Harper Atkins, and Andrea Paige Sizemore; sisters, Faye Goings, and Mary Ann Atkins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rev.
