Mary Frances Chambers
Mary Frances Chambers, 45, of Roanoke, unexpectedly left us to join her heavenly family early on Monday, October 3, 2022. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, William and Nancy Chambers, as well her aunts, Joyce Johnson and Jane Robertson; an uncle, Arthur Wayne Overstreet; cherished cousins Wendy Gaskin and Stephanie Kingrea and special friend Heath Brogan.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Tommy and Ashlee Chambers and her beloved nephew Tyler Chambers; as well as uncles Kenneth and Ronnie Overstreet (Shirley). In addition, she is also survived by several cousins, including Jessica Tingler (Matt) and their sons Deontae and Javon, as well as a tremendous amount extended family members and very special friends.
Mary Frances was a proud graduate of William Byrd High School (Class of 1995) and Christopher Newport University. She grew up attending Waverly Place Baptist Church and was a very active member of the church, especially in the Youth Choir and Volleyball programs. She loved taking trips to the OBX and Pigeon Forge, watching her Disney movie collection and great conversations with her friends. She was currently employed by One Main Financial where she enjoyed the relationships she built with her customers as well as her fellow co-workers.
Mary Frances was a friend, daughter, sister and aunt to many, not just her immediate family. She lived life with a huge heart, was always there for any family or friend who needed support or a shoulder to lean on. As her parent’s health was declining, she was with them every step of the way supporting and caring for them to the end. In undoubtably her most special role, Mary was a loving aunt to her nephew Tyler. The relationship Tyler and his Aunt CiCi shared was incredibly special as was the relationship she had with Deontae and Javon.
A celebration of Mary’s life will take place Thursday, October 13th at 4:00 at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton. Her service at 4 will be followed by open visitation for all family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Virginia Alzheimer's Association in memory of Mary and her support of her father William as he fought this terrible disease. While we mourn the loss of our Sister, Aunt, and Cousin; it eases our pain knowing she is home in peace with her mom and dad who she has missed so much since they left us.
