Joan D. Sowers

Joan D. Sowers, of Roanoke, passed away on October 25, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Marie Adams; husband, Howard Sowers; brother, Mitchell “Red” Adams. Joan worked at ITT Night Vision for 35 years. She worked hard at helping her co-workers as a Union Officer of Local # 162. Joan loved her dog Rambo, her family and many friends. She loved jewelry of all kinds. And she was a live wire. Joan was a very loving and caring person who put all her faith in God.

Surviving to cherish her memory is her step-son, Ricky Sowers and wife Vicky; sister in-law, Carol Adams; niece, Tonya Meadows and husband Stacy; nephew, JR Adams and wife Nichole; grandchildren, Hope Bradbury and husband Brian; Toai Sowers, Ricky Sowers, Amorynn Sowers; great grandchildren, Grayson, Jackson, Libby Rose, Brantley; close friend, Jeff and Brenda Moran and many special loved cousins, great nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Lotz Vinton Chapel with Rev. David Jones officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
