Betty Anne Creech
Betty Anne Creech, 89, was taken home by our Lord to be united with the love of her life on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. She was born on July 7, 1934 to Arthur and Ida Cross in Portsmouth, Va. Betty was a deeply spiritual woman who shared God’s love with others. She was an inspiration to all that knew her and was loved and admired by many. The impact of Betty’s life will be felt for years to come. If Betty was not sharing her love of God you could find her cooking or crafting. She loved making things for others. She was also a doll collector and loved to show them off. Betty’s legacy will live on forever through the many stories she shared and the memories of those that had the opportunity to know her. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Ida Cross; first husband, Charles Sykes; second husband, Joseph Creech; son, Gilbert Sykes, and sister, Glenda House.Surviving family includes her daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Howard (Eddie) Brooks; step-sons, Jeff Creech (Terry) and Timmy (Martha); granddaughter, Emily Brooks Phillips (Wayne); sister, Janet Deaton (Jerry); brother, Gilbert (Butch) Cross, and special aunt and uncle, Bruce and Dee Daley.
