Deloris Scott

Deloris Scott passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026.

Deloris enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved listening to talking books and spending quiet time sitting outside, enjoying the fresh air and peaceful surroundings.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles A. Payne; her mother, Violet P. Payne; her husband, George D. Scott; her daughters, Carolyn D. Haymore and Linda A. Barrosse; her grandson, Matthew S. Goad; her granddaughter, Laura L. Goad; and her brothers, Charles A. Payne and Randall Payne.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra L. Goad, and her son, Gerald L. Lamb, Jr., along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Angels of Assisi.
