Michael Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Fulton Jones, age 71, on March 24, 2025. Michael was born on October 16, 1953 in Roanoke, Virginia, to Everette Fulton Jones and Betty Alls Jones.Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Everette Fulton and Betty Alls Jones; and a brother Jackie Lee Jones.Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Connie Sue Jones; sons, Jeff Jones and his wife, Melissa and Brian Jones and his wife, Jo Beth Jones; grandchildren, Ashley Jones (Zach), Zachary Jones, Connor Jones, and Brady Jones; great-grandchildren, Oakley Mcclellan, Mackenzie and Kyler Mcclellan; and his special furry friend, Reagan.Throughout his life, Michael worked as an electrician and union rep with Norfolk and Southern. Mike was known as a youth baseball coach for several years. One of his proudest moments coaching was making it to the World Series in Avon Park, Florida. Michael was a New York Yankees fan with Mickey Mantle being his favorite baseball player. Prior to becoming sick, Michael enjoyed watching baseball games and college football games.Family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Wednesday March 26, 2025, at Lotz Funeral Home Vinton, 305 East Washington Ave. There will be a service at Lotz Funeral Home Vinton on Thursday, March 27,2025, at 2 pm with internment following at Mt. View Cemetery,May his soul rest in peace and may his legacy of love and kindness continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
