Patricia "Pat" Marie Lakey Hampton

Patricia “Pat” Marie Lakey Hampton, 84, of Spencer, Virginia, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024. She was born November 14, 1940, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Margaret Hunt Lakey and Willard Woodrow Lakey.In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Arlen Calvin Hampton; son, Kenneth Wayne Hampton; and grandson, Logan Wayne Sessoms.Pat was of the Baptist faith and attended Mayo Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly. In her free time, you could always find her snuggled in a comfortable chair reading about many subjects; she especially loved reading her bible. Her most treasured moments were those spent loving on her grandchildren.She is survived by her daughter, Susan Paige Hampton Sessoms (James); sons, William “Bart” Bartley Hampton (Susan) and Michael Scott Hampton (Tammy); brother, Donald Lakey (Doris); grandchildren, Brittany Wingate (Dustin), Taylor Hampton, Jessica Cumbo (Jay), Lexis Hampton; great-grandchildren, Dallas Kate Wingate and Layne Riley Cumbo; and numerous friends and extended family.A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at 6:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Ricky Bates officiating.In lieu of flowers please make donations In Memory of Patricia Hampton to Mountain Valley Hospice, 240 Commonwealth Blvd W Unit 602 B, Martinsville, Virginia 24112Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
